Darius shrugged. "Alright, I want to be proven wrong."

Gabriel smiled. "And I want to prove you wrong," he said gently.

Darius shrugged and smiled slightly. "Let's see. Though I will say you turning down a donation makes me at least think a little higher of you. But perhaps you're playing the long game?"

Gabriel laughed lightly. "You are most welcome to make a donation. But I believe what is at stake here has no price..."

Darius rose his brow and leaned back against the pew. "My soul?" He wasn't sure if he had such a thing if they existed at all.

"Possibly." Gabriel said.

Darius shrugged. "We will see. I'll be back then. I wonder what you have to sway my opinion.'

Gabriel stood up. "We will see. Goodbye for now." And he walked away.

Darius nodded and waved. He sat there for a while staring up at the windows before he got up and left.

Two days later, Gabriel stood waiting in front of the church, dressed in black cassock and saturno, a stole in his hand. "Ah, you made it," he said, when he saw Darius. "I hope you are well?"
